As I already discussed before, the issue of the rapidly declining number of free living Tortilla chips in their natural habitat presents itself rather horrifying. Hardly anybody of our generation has ever seen a wild Tortilla and those who have usually capture and eliminate the individual.
To prevent this from happening, the C.E.I.O.T.E.S.C.A.F.I.T.N.H. (Committee Established in Order to Ensure the Survival of Central American Foods in Their Natural Habitat) has been refounded for the first time since the Great Nacho Massacre of 1851. 4/11 is to be celebrated as the Official National Foundation Day of the C.E.I.O.T.E.S.C.A.F.I.T.N.H. every year by picking a certain amount of Tortilla cubs scientist abandon near groups of wild tortillas, hoping the adults will affiliate at leat some of them and accept them as their own. If the attempts would be as successful as the researchers hope they were, it might be possible to save the rare species.
Also, in order to maintain the Chips' habitat, their major food source has to be kept within a certian ares due to the decreasing size of the tortilla colonies.
"It is nigh [...] impossible for such small numbers of Tortillas in a pack to prey on Salsa puddles and be successful in obtaining enough food for all of them", says C.E.I.O.T.E.S.C.A.F.I.T.N.H. President and Research chairwoman F. Hansen.
Especially in this season, when huge swamps of Black Bean and Tomato salsa migrate south to devote themselves to reproduction and make more salsa, it is especially hard for Tortillas who left their pack trying to survive on their own to hunt upon the steadily moving salsa bogs.
